Description

Relay testing can be frustrating!

You’re often thrown into unfamiliar situations, and you’re expected to know exactly what to do:

  • Even when you’re testing a new relay or configuration…
  • Even when the manufacturer’s manual is confusing…
  • Even when you haven’t been properly trained…

But what if you could avoid all of that, learn to navigate almost any testing scenario, and become a true relay testing expert?

This online protective relay testing seminar follows Chris Werstiuk (author of The Relay Testing Handbook) as he shows you the basic skills you need to test any digital relay with any modern test-set to help you become a relay testing craftsman.

Watch this series of videos on any device with speakers or headphones, and a good internet connection. You have 24/7/365 access to the videos, which are broken down into logical chunks that you can watch at any time, in any order, so you can fit this series into your busy schedule.

You can pause, rewind, and re-watch the videos as often as you like to make sure you catch every detail and then ask questions in our comments section.

Why should protective relay test technicians take this relay testing training course?

Wouldn’t it be nice if your testing career started by following a mentor around as they tested relays, and who had the time to explain what was going on and why?  Let Chris be the mentor you should have had from the start. He takes the time to explain what he’s doing, why he’s doing it, and then shows you several different options to get the job done right.

This seminar explains how to test protective relays using Chris’ decades of relay testing experience and nearly a decade of relay testing training to make smarter test plans that are more effective and more efficient than traditional test plans. Plus, he describes everything he’s learned about generic relay testing.

We recommend every relay tester take this seminar, regardless of their experience level. We often find that relay testing experts are shocked by what they didn’t know when they take one of Chris’ courses.

    Excellent training course it is.

  4. A.Bisnath

Many people cannot attend a formal classroom training as they may be from very far locations around the world, this training allowed me to gain knowledge and also review when I did not grasp a part of the lesson, also there was the forum to ask questions. I believe that the lessons are well prepared and it was really good that the instructor shared his experiences along the way.

  5. Benjamin (verified owner)

This is a fantastic course in how to test relays and covers aspects that are not found anywhere else – set up, print and documentation review, testing philosophy, the testing process and reporting results. The quality of the material in these videos and Chris’s engaging delivery have led me to be infinitely more prepared to take on the task of relay testing than ever before.

  6. customer review

    Excellent

  7. Dave

Most of the ‘relay’ problems I have faced were actually human errors instead of equipment errors. Most relay tests would not catch these errors. Examples: Wrong CT/PT ratios, wrong polarity.

This course helped show how testing a relay can also catch human errors in the installation of equipment or wiring and the programming.

This course is unlike any I have ever seen. I have paid ten times the cost to attend training in person, and the training usually covers mostly theory and standards. This course actually shows you how to do real-world relay testing.

  8. Relay Course Evaluation

That this is a great source of knowledge that may have been over looked or not even taught. A resource I will definitely be going back to when I’m prepping for a job or have a question that the videos answer.

  9. A Relay Course Evaluation

  14. A Relay Course Evaluation

Plan on using or borrowing a relay test set and if possible a relay to test against.

Preplan and down load all of the relay manuals and software.

  15. Relay Course Evaluation

If you don’t have any experience about relay testing, this will be little bit hard to understand. However, in my case, I just watched this course so many times before relay testing and now, I can go on right way to do it with confidence. This is really valuable for your carrier as relay tester.

  16. Relay Course Evaluation

How did you feel about testing relays before the course?
I have never experienced before and just did bench top relay testing.
How did the course help you?
increase my knowledge regarding protection relay world and now I did my first job of SEL-700G for FAT testing.
How do you feel about relay testing now?
Very exciting and there are lots of fun and interests.
Why should someone take this course?
to verify their knowledge with other expert. since sometimes, they are very stubborn and tend to believe their experience.

  17. A Relay Course Evaluation

I’ve done enough coursework in my life in various disciplines and trade crafts to have forgotten some of them. In all of my studies, I have rarely met an instructor who knew their material better, delivered it more clearly and effectively, or who obviously enjoyed teaching their subject more. His class helped me understand relay testing at a level far above what I knew before I took it. It would be difficult to overstate the value of his classes.

  18. Relay Course Evaluation

Definately purchase and take this course.
