Upload Relay Settings

Topic Progress:

These videos will show you how to upload relay settings using the most common relay platforms.

You will get maximum benefit from this seminar if you have a test-set and any digital overcurrent relay so you can follow along. If you can’t find relay settings to download in this lesson, send us the appropriate information about the relay and we’ll add it to the download list.

If you don’t have a practice relay, you can contact a relay manufacturer to request a demo relay, or you can rent one from us.

Contact us at [email protected] to request a relay or get relay settings for the seminar.

These videos will show you how to upload relay settings to the relay you want to test.

Please show the upload setting & communication with ABB Relays (REF 615 or REB 670 or REM615)

Chris Werstiuk (Administrator) November 25, 2016 at 7:56 am

Thanks for your comment. I’ll get in touch with someone at ABB and see if I can get a loaner.

We uploaded an ABB RET650 relay. We will be uploading REF615 relays to future topics shortly.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Great work! Thank you for teaching this.
At the moment, I think the hyperlink for the ABB software download instructions is not working. Not critical for me, just giving a heads up.

Thanks for the comment. Everything int he link worked for me.

Great videos. We see a lot of Eaton/Cooper Form 6s. Could you add a video for those?

Chris Werstiuk (Administrator) October 2, 2017 at 9:11 am

Thanks for the question. Can you send a contact from the manufacturer who may be able to send a loaner to [email protected]?

Do you know if there is any software for ABB RET521 relays to read settings in Windows 10? I know CAP540 which only runs on windows XP.

Chris Werstiuk (Administrator) September 27, 2018 at 9:22 am

The software I used in the videos was running on Windows 10. You should contact your ABB rep. You can also create a virtual xp machine if that is necessary.

Hi Chris, great videos. I didn’t know that Siemens released a Digsi4 for Windows10 until now. I have an old PC with windows XP dedicated to Digsi4.93 because it just does not work with Windows10. Is it a patch or an entirely new version of Digsi4.93 just for Windows10? Can you please share the link so we can go straight there to get it?

Chris Werstiuk (Administrator) August 11, 2021 at 8:14 am

I’m not sure where I got the installation file, but it is called “Siemens_DIGSI_4_V4.91_DVD.zip” and it is about 2.7Gb.

A collogue here in the US was asking me about it recently and I noticed that is seems DIGSI 5 could be downloaded here: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109767686/digsi-5-v8-00-(trial-update-full-version)?dti=0&lc=en-US

This site (https://elec-engg.com/download-disgi-5-full-package-trial-version-or-free-version/) seems to indicate that there is a free version.

Hi Chris, thanks for the links. The free version is not free, it’s just free download. I’ve never used Digsi5. Does not old serial number for Digsi4 work with Digsi5?

Chris Werstiuk (Administrator) August 12, 2021 at 7:54 am

That site made it seem that you could use it for basic functions and then pay for more functionality, like the SEL software. I don’t have a SIEMENS relay here in the lab, so I’ve never tried it.

Hi Chris, I learned alot from this seminar, could you help me with GE F650 relay.

Chris Werstiuk (Administrator) September 28, 2021 at 3:33 pm

Thanks for the feedback.

The F650 relay looks like a SR-750 relay that probably has the UR interface. Watch those videos again and it should be nearly identical.

Hi Chris,

I really appreciate your valuable information, and I would like to share my little knowledge with you regarding comparing files of Simens Siprotec.

Please see the attachment.

Kind regards,

No Beckwith in this section?

Chris Werstiuk (Administrator) December 29, 2022 at 4:48 pm

Good point.

I probably figured that it was too easy compared to the rest.

I will add it to the todo list.

Thanks.

Is there any way we could get a copy of the 311 instruction manual? I looked at their website and I couldn’t find any way to download one without signing up for something.
